The ChildSafe Center - CAC utilizes an evidence-based therapy model for children who have been abused. Using play and art, the model teaches the child new coping techniques for managing their trauma symptoms. The unique design to this program is that the non-offending caretaker meets separately with the therapist and is taught the same skills to reinforce at home. The ChildSafe Center - CAC is seeking adult volunteers to interact with children for unstructured play at the center during the parent teaching sections of the therapy sessions. Appointments are generally 1½ hours.
The ChildSafe Center - CAC is seeking adult volunteers with computer skills to assist in entering information into the program’s case tracking database. The qualified individual will handle confidential information and will need to be able to handle reading information related to the details of alleged child abuse. Data entry will be done at the ChildSafe Center - CAC. Time commitment of at least 2 hours per volunteer day is needed, but no requirements for number of days volunteered.
The ChildSafe Center - CAC is seeking volunteers to visit the center to periodically clean and organize the toys in the playroom and therapy room. This is the perfect opportunity for family volunteering, or a child volunteer.
